Samsung’s next Tab S series may have three models. A report from the company’s local Korean media Clien stated that the most high-end model seems to be named Tab S8 Ultra. The tablet is also positioned as a competitor of the 2021 Apple iPad Pro.
According to an article on the Korean media Clien website, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will be equipped with the Exynos 2200 processor, which is Samsung’s upcoming flagship chip and may be equipped with a new AMD GPU. According to the alleged benchmark test, the chip performance is at the same level as the M1 chip on the latest iPad Pro.
Other specifications of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will also be top-notch, and a separate report claims that the tablet will be equipped with Samsung’s best display. However, this source said that the device will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 processor.
Therefore, Samsung may take the approach of its flagship mobile phone: use Snapdragon chips in North America and China, and models in other markets are equipped with Exynos chips. Of course, this is just a guess at the moment.
In addition, it is said that the device will use up to 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage space. In contrast, Apple’s 12.9-inch iPad Pro has a top-notch mini-LED display and up to 2TB of storage space.
It is reported that the body of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is slightly larger than that of the Tab S7 Plus, and the frame is very narrow. The Tab S7 Plus is equipped with a 12.4-inch screen, and it is rumored that the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will provide a 14.6-inch 120Hz screen, and the tablet will be equipped with a 11500mAh battery.
According to reports, the Galaxy Tab S8 series of tablets will be unveiled together with the Galaxy S22 series. The supply of the Ultra version may be limited initially. This model is said to be priced at approximately US$1320 in South Korea.
