Galaxy Z Fold 3 exploded during repair and packing but fortunately it did not cause any damage

The Galaxy Z Fold 3’s sales are better than expected, and it may also be the best foldable smartphone for a long time. However, a user may have a different view of the device because he reported that when he was about to box the phone back to the factory, the phone exploded. Fortunately, the user was not harmed by property or people.

According to Chad Christian, the phone broke while riding a bicycle a week ago, so he was about to send it to Samsung for repair, but it eventually exploded when he packed the phone in the box. Christian shared a video of his mobile phone smoking.

However, this is more likely to be an isolated incident, which may be related to a previous fall. Although mobile phone explosions have always occurred, it is the first time that it has occurred on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. We have seen several OnePlus phones and some other devices explode before, mostly related to the battery not working the way it should.

Samsung has a bad record on mobile phone battery safety. Galaxy Note 7 contains major design flaws that caused the battery to explode. Since then, Samsung has been particularly concerned about battery protection, so that it has been behind other manufacturers in the development of fast charging technology.

Subsequently, the local Samsung customer service staff sent another repair box to Christian, but so far, the date for the replacement of the smartphone has not been determined.
