Samsung devices also have a memory expansion feature, which is supported by mid-range and flagships

The latest popular new feature in the Android mobile phone industry is to add memory expansion features to the device through software updates, and now Samsung has also joined this lineup. Earlier, some netizens discovered that the Indian version of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G has been updated and added a feature called RAM Plus, enabling it to allow the phone to get up to 4GB of memory expansion.

Outside media have now discovered that this feature has been extended to more models and markets, including mid-range models such as Galaxy A52 5G and flagship phones such as Galaxy Z Fold 3 with large memory. However, manual adjustments are still not supported by users. All models are unified with 4GB virtual memory.

It is said that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 recently updated this feature, so foreign media believe that Samsung will eventually expand the virtual storage to other high-end and flagship phones, such as the Galaxy S21 series. The previous One UI 4.0 beta of the Galaxy S21 series Android 12 does not seem to include the RAM Plus function, but it may still appear in future system updates.

You can check whether there is RAM Plus function on your Galaxy device by opening the Settings, finding the Battery and Device Maintenance submenu and clicking Memory.
