Google suspected of launching a subscription package similar to Apple One, Pixel Pass

According to the latest reports, Google seems to be ready to announce a new subscription package called Pixel Pass, which will combine the new Pixel device with an extended warranty and premium subscriptions for several Google services. Now, a picture released by Brandon Lee details this unproven bundled service.

The price of the Pixel Pass is still unclear, but documents show that it will be sold with Pixel devices through Google Fi and Google Store. As Lee pointed out, Pixel Pass seems to combine elements of Apple’s iPhone upgrade plan (which provides iPhones through monthly subscription payments and extended warranty periods) and the Apple One subscription service combination.

Pixel Pass may be considered a way to simplify all these services and provide peace of mind with an extended warranty. Pixel Pass may also offer more discounts than paying for these services alone, but there is no indication as to how much Pixel Pass may cost.

As can be seen from the file, Pixel Pass will combine up to four subscription items-YouTube Premium or YouTube Music, Google One, Play Pass and Google Fi. These services include video and music streaming, cloud storage, application subscription bundling and mobile network coverage. However, there is no mention of Google Stadia, the cloud game streaming service of the search giant.

The leaked information shows that the function of extending the equipment warranty is similar to Google’s existing preferred care or equipment protection services, which provide protection against accidental and mechanical failure damage. Currently, Preferred Care is only available in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, while Device Protection is only available in Google Fi services in the United States. This shows that Pixel Pass may only become an option in North America.

There is no mention of which Pixel phones the Pixel Pass will be provided with. But given that the Pixel 6 conference will be held on October 19, Pixel Pass seems likely to be launched as a companion product for the new flagship smartphone.
