Geekbench reveals Samsung Galaxy Book, which uses 12-core i7-1270P mobile processor

The Geekbench benchmark database just exposed Samsung’s new Galaxy Book laptop, which is characterized by a unique 12-core Intel Core i7-1270P mobile processor. In addition, considering that it is the same as the previously leaked device model (MP930QED), it is not ruled out that Samsung will provide more CPU options in the future.

In terms of specifications, this Alder Lake-P processor has 12 cores/16 threads, which means that it uses 4 high-performance Golden Cove (P core) + 8 energy-saving Gracemont (E core) combinations. The Geekbench benchmark database also revealed that the i7-1270P has an 18MB L3 cache and a base frequency of 2.5 GHz, but a software bug identified the maximum turbo frequency as only 9 MHz.

But what interests us more is the naming method of Intel’s 12th-generation mobile processors. The current 11th generation Tiger Lake CPU’s H-45/H-35/U-28 naming will be replaced by Alder Lake-P and other naming methods in the 12th generation. As for other configurations of the test platform, including 16GB DDR5 memory (or LPDDR5X), and the Windows 11 operating system.

Finally, according to the Intel 12th-generation Core i5/i7 configuration selected by Samsung, it is expected that the price of the next-generation Galaxy Book notebook will be around 800 ~ 1,300 US dollars. For reference, the Galaxy Book model currently on sale is equipped with an AM OLED panel with a 1080p @ 60Hz refresh rate. It is expected that the next-generation Alder Lake platform will bring a slight upgrade, supplemented by a standard and friendly design.
