GTA Trilogy: Who bought it on PC can’t play, what’s going on?

GTA Trilogy didn’t have a sparkling day one. After the inconvenience on the PlayStation 5, now PC players are also having some very serious problems. And no, beware no game-level errors. The reason why the collection, which includes the first three chapters of the fully remastered 3D series, does not work on PC is to be found in the Rockstar Games home client, which has been offline for a very important amount of hours.

On Thursday, around 19:00, in fact, GTA Trilogy has become practically inaccessible on PC. This is because the Rockstar Games home client has gone offline and doesn’t seem to have the slightest intention of resuming. The only official message from Rockstar comes from Twitter, stating that the client has been taken offline for maintenance. The problem is that it is now almost 14 hours that everything shows no signs of recovering and this prevents players from accessing their games, including the Grand Theft Auto collection.

The inability to enter the launcher is the most serious problem: anyone who has never selected the “Remember this PC” option will not be able to log in before Rockstar Games manages to fix everything. For those who manage to enter (very few, of course) they will not be able to play practically anything, not even GTA Trilogy, which despite being a single-player game still needs an online connection, probably dictated by internal policies of the house.

The situation is creating different discontent among users. Many are asking Rockstar to return to launch its games on Steam, while others are even angrier: despite having paid in advance for GTA Trilogy, hackers can now play the title while not. In fact, a pirated version of the collection has already appeared online, thus adding a joke to those who had just booked the package.
