Apple notified iPhone suppliers that demand has slowed

Apple has notified component suppliers that demand for iPhone 13 series products has weakened. Earlier news reports stated that due to a lack of parts, Apple has lowered its production target of 90 million iPhone 13 units this year by 10 million units, and hopes to make up most of the gap when supplies are expected to improve next year.

But according to the latest news from people familiar with the matter, Apple is informing suppliers that these orders may not be fulfilled. Previously, analysts expected sales in the last three months of this year to increase by 6% to $117.9 billion, but as inflation and Omi Keron variants bring new concerns to consumers, they may abandon some purchases.

However, it should be noted that although the iPhone’s performance in the global market will show a downward trend, it has won the best results in the country in the past 6 years. According to the latest sales data of the five major brands in the domestic smartphone market recently released by market research agency CINNO Research, Apple has returned to the top monthly sales list with the newly released iPhone 13 series, and the iPhone 13 topped the stand-alone sales champion in October with approximately 2.67 million units.

In terms of market share, Apple won 22% of the Chinese market in October, surpassing OPPO and Vivo. This is the first time since December 2015 to return to the number one domestic smartphone market. Behind this achievement, the biggest contributor is undoubtedly the iPhone 13 series. If there are no surprises in the following year, the series is likely to set a sales record in recent years.
