Microsoft Edge gets tag search feature

The tag search function for the Microsoft Edge browser has been developed for a long time, and now there is finally new progress. Although Microsoft has not officially confirmed the development of a Chromium-based tag search function, the company has quietly enabled this feature for some users.

This feature has been in development for several months, and it appeared in the Canary version in August this year. At that time, users needed to enable an experimental flag through the Edge://flags menu, or use the command line to enable it.

In the latest Canary version, Microsoft has enabled this feature by default, but currently, only a few users have seen this change. It is possible that Microsoft is still conducting A/B testing of tag search integration with a small number of users.

Like Chrome’s tag search, Edge’s tag search also supports the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + A on Windows and other platforms. Edge is already equipped with a vertical tagging function, which makes multitasking easier. Search tags should make it easier for users to find a specific website or tag. Microsoft is also developing new features and improvements for Chromium-based Edge to help improve user productivity.
