Battlefield 2042, we have a date for Season 1

Thanks to a group of data miners, we learned when DICE will launch the first season of Battlefield 2042. The first-person shooter of Electronic Arts (which also received its first unofficial parody ) will only update in 2022, as was easily understood given that we are at the end of the year, with unpublished content capable of extending the hours of the game.

Let’s go in order: Battlefield 2042 is exactly like all the other shooters available on the market. DICE and Electronic Arts have planned a series of regular updates, with new content in the pipeline most likely quarterly. At the moment the development team has not yet announced the arrival of Season 1, but as can be seen from the game’s datamine, everything will arrive in March 2022. To reveal it is Temporyal, a Twitter user who has always been very active with regard to the FPS series.

As demonstrated by Temporyal, the Battlefield 2042 client has 12 weeks of pre-season. According to these calculations, season 1 should arrive in March, unless of course more weeks have been inserted for safety and thus avoid launch problems that could ruin the gaming experience. Within the first season, there will certainly be a new map, called Exposure but known by the code name of Ridge, where players will fight as the Russian or US factions.

We are still in the field of rumors, it is true, but the reliability of Temporyal is well known to all. The possibility therefore that the DICE home game can be updated and include the first season in the indicated time period is very high. We obviously await official communications from the development team and the publisher and we invite you to stay tuned to Tom’s Hardware for all the news and announcements in the pipeline.
