Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Updates: Will It Have More Than the Galaxy S21 Series?
We know that Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra have come out with the promise of at least three years of operating system updates, plus at least one more security patch: launched with Android 11 in early 2021 and with Android 12 already received, smartphones should therefore welcome Android 13 and Android 14 (if these are the names chosen by Google).
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is part of the S21 series, but it was presented just yesterday with Android 12 and One UI 4.0 on board: consequently, it should receive Android 13 (2022), Android 14 (2023) and even Android 15 (2024), with an additional (minimum) year of security patches available. Unless Samsung introduces other changes, the smartphone should therefore have longer software support than the flagships (in purely temporal terms, since we are still talking about 3+1).
In terms of frequency, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is expected to follow its predecessor Galaxy S20 FE and receive new security patches every month (probably every quarter between 2025 and 2026). For the next few months, we expect the arrival of the One UI 4.1, which should debut aboard the Galaxy S22 with some additional features.
