After PUBG Mobile changed its business model and became a free-to-play game, a large number of new players rushed in, and the game’s praise rate was steadily increasing. Developer Krafton recently announced that new players have increased by 486% since the game became free, which is even more than the player growth rate of PUBG when it launched in 2017.
In addition, Krafton also said that after PUBG is free, the growth rate of new players in Southeast Asia and South America is even higher, even reaching 537%. After the game was free, there were nearly 700,000 active players on the Steam platform.
To celebrate the new achievement, Krafton announced that from January 27th to January 30th, players will be able to unlock free special game rewards and new skins for at least one hour of playing the game.
