Windows 11 will soon bring personalized wallpaper stickers feature

Microsoft is working on some new features for Windows 11, and recently, Twitter user @thebookisclosed found something that many users will love. That’s support for wallpaper stickers, a new idea that will be available in Windows 11 as another personalization feature. Interestingly, Microsoft will also develop a new sticker editor app that will allow users to configure these stickers.

Windows 11 will have an interesting personalization feature – stickers for your wallpaper. You’ll be able to configure them using a new sticker editor app, as long as you don’t use Slideshow, and when you only have one monitor use Fill, Fit mode and they persist across wallpaper changes.

While it’s unclear how these stickers will work and what their specific purpose is in Windows 11, it doesn’t look like they’ll be the modern desktop gadgets many have been waiting for.

Desktop gadgets were available in Windows Vista and Windows 7, but Microsoft eventually dropped them for security reasons. While many believed the Redmond-based software giant would bring them back at some point, including in the form of live tiles pinned to desktops, such a return never actually happened.

According to Albacore, the stickers are not expected to be animated, as evidence now suggests they will be static and applied every time the wallpaper is changed.

At this point, however, it’s unclear exactly when Microsoft intends to bring stickers to the desktop in Windows 11, but considering the first codes have already been spotted in beta builds, it shouldn’t be until they show up in Insider builds. will take too long.

Microsoft is rolling out a major Windows 11 update later this month, but apparently, these stickers won’t be included as their development is still in the early stages.
