Last month we reported that Signal Messenger beta users are able to change their registered phone number in Messenger since the last update.
This circumvents the many problems that users of the service have had when they got a new phone number and then wanted to use it to access Signal and their contacts again.
As the team behind the app has now announced, all Signal users can now use the “Change number” function to ensure that they can keep both their existing messages and groups with a new number.
A short message will then be displayed in the chats held so far so that the person you are talking to is also informed about the number change.
