In America, Tesla has long been inviting its customers to visit Superchargers as far as possible from peak hours. To encourage users to follow this indication, the manufacturer usually offers discounts on recharging or other promotions for those who fill up with energy in the evening or early in the morning.
Typically, these offers come around holiday times when people could take a few days off and then flock to Superchargers for their travels. The goal, therefore, is to ensure that there are no long queues at charging stations.
Now, these promotions have also arrived in Europe. Tesla, in fact, has made it known that at some European Supercharger stations it will be possible, for a few days between February and March, to recharge for free as long as you go to fill up with energy at specific times.
Avoid the rush of this winter holiday season and charge for free during off-peak hours at Superchargers along selected travel routes in Europe.
So Tesla explains his initiative on a page of his official website. Thanks to the incentive to fill up for free energy, the manufacturer aims to encourage its customers to go and recharge during the moments of less influx to prevent the stations from becoming congested during the day.
Certainly very interesting news, it is a pity that Italy is not part of this promotion. In fact, scrolling through the list of Superchargers that are part of this initiative, it turns out that they are only found in France, Germany, Norway, and Sweden. Let’s go into detail.
- France: 27 stations. From Friday to Sunday between 11 and 27 February. Before 10:00 and after 18:00.
- Germany: 31 stations. From Friday to Sunday between February 18th and March 6th. Before 8:00 and after 19:00.
- Norway: 8 stations. From Friday to Sunday between February 18th and March 6th. Before 12:00 and after 19:00.
- Sweden: 13 stations. From Friday to Sunday between February 18th and March 6th. Before 11 am and after 6 pm.
We imagine that if the initiative is successful, as happened in America, Tesla may decide to expand it, in the future, to other European countries as well.
