MIUI 13 Global Beta: How to test Xiaomi’s major update

Xiaomi has announced the MIUI 13 Global Beta initiative, which to give its community the opportunity to try the new major update firsthand. In this way, the user can become Mi Pilot, that is a beta tester in charge of field testing the new update and testing the relative news.

It is a win-win situation for both sides, but obviously, it is something delicate to manage and therefore not open to anyone. This means that the Beta ROMs are not released to anyone, but you must send the application: if you want to become a beta tester, here’s what you need to do.

What are the compatible models?

Here is the official list of Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones on which it will be possible to test the MIUI 13 Global Beta:

Xiaomi

  • Xiaomi 11, 11 Ultra, 11i, 11 Lite, 11 Lite 5G, 11 Lite 5G NE, 11T, 11T Pro
  • Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Lite 5G, Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro, Mi 10T Lite
  • Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9 SE, Mi 9 Lite, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro
  • Xiaomi Mi Note 10, Mi Note 10 Lite
  • Xiaomi Pad 5

Redmi

  • Redmi Note 11, Note 11S
  • Redmi Note 10, Note 10 5G, Note 10 Pro, Note 10T, Note 10S, Note 10 JE
  • Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro, Note 9T, Note 9S
  • Redmi Note 8, Note 8T, Note 8 Pro, Note 8 (2021)

For the moment, therefore, all models of the POCO brand are excluded. However, it cannot be ruled out that POCO decides to enter the question later.

How to apply to become a Mi Pilot

If your smartphone falls on the list above, here are some other pre-requisites:

  • Being of age
  • Being able to flash a ROM
  • Have a Xiaomi account

Participate in the MIUI 13 Global Beta program

During registration, you will be asked for the Xiaomi account number (you can find it under ” Settings / Mi Account ” in the phone) and IMEI (you can see it by typing * # 06 # in the telephone dialer) of the Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone that you will use for test the MIUI 13 Global Beta. 

As soon as the applications are closed, Xiaomi will publish the list of Xiaomi accounts that will be able to enter the group of MIUI 13 Global Beta testers. As soon as the list is public, we will let you know to let you find out if you will return or not.
