The game store called “Punch-Out Gaming” is located in Lake Forest, Minnesota, USA. The theft occurred on February 9, local time, when a burglar broke into the game by digging a hole in the wall to avoid setting off the alarm. Game store, according to the store owner, the burglary nearly emptied the store’s inventory.

After the thief entered the store, he emptied two storage rooms full of Pokémon card collections. In an interview, the store owner explained: “I did an inventory and the value of these Pokémon products was over $250,000. The criminals must have been helped because there were so many boxes out there.

He also clarified that due to the surge in popularity of Pokémon cards, stores would rather get stolen products back than insurance money. I can’t restore these Pokémon cards because our dealers don’t have them. So even with the insurance money, it doesn’t do us any good, he said.

Fox News reporter Mary McGuire tweeted an image of the theft scene and said: They completely emptied two storage rooms full of product … but left all the stuffed animals behind.

According to the store owner, the demand for Pokémon cards in 2022 is very high, and what is even more damaging is that the store is now running out of products to sell. With a growing shortage of Pokémon cards, it could take months for the in-game store to get more products to sell.
