Activision’s own “Call of Duty” mobile game is in charge of Activision’s newly established mobile game studio Solid State, which will be a 3A-level mobile game.
In October 2021, Activision acquired Digital Legends, a mobile game developer in Barcelona, Spain, to assist in the development of the new Call of Duty game. In addition, Beenox and Activision Shanghai are also involved.
Considering the huge success of Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile, it makes perfect sense for Activision to develop a mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone. In recent years, several battle royale games have started or are planned to land on mobile platforms, including EA’s Apex Legends.
While the experience of Warzone on mobile will certainly be different from the console and PC versions, Activision may find a way to somehow keep the core experience intact.
