And while the operating system shares some parallels with macOS and Windows, not all things are the same. This is revealed just by looking at the keyboard, which has a few peculiarities under Chrome OS. As with the competition, it also offers shortcuts for even more efficient mobile riding.

Chromebooks offer almost infinite keyboard shortcuts

So Google came up with a few standout shortcuts, which include the following:

Basic shortcuts:

  • Go to a new website = Ctrl + n
  • Copy selected content to clipboard = Ctrl + c
  • Paste content from clipboard = Ctrl + v and with magnifying glass + v the last five contents can be copied
  • from the clipboard
  • Select content in search bar = Ctrl + l
  • Open incognito window = Shift + Ctrl + n (This allows users to browse the web privately and their recent
  • activity will not be visible.)
  • Invoke all possible key combinations = Ctrl + Alt + #
  • Search on a website or in a document = Ctrl + f
  • Enable high contrast mode = Ctrl + Magnifier + H

The special keys:

  • Refresh = With this special key you can easily and quickly refresh any page
  • Full-screen mode = With this special key you can easily switch to full-screen mode
  • Overview mode = With this special key you can see all open windows and switch between them
  • Everything button = With the everything button you can start a search directly on the device or go to the
  • classic Google search bar.

Combinations with special keys:

  • Take a screenshot of the entire image = Ctrl + Overview mode
  • Take a screenshot of a part of the screen = Shift + Ctrl + Overview mode
  • Enable Caps Lock = Alt + All Key
  • Open clipboard = All key + v (The last five copied items are displayed here.)
