YouTuber Mrwhosetheboss recently tested the battery life of the Galaxy S22 Ultra and compared it to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro Max, Pixel 6 Pro and Mi 12 Pro. The above 5 devices are all brand new and tested at 100% power. The test items include browsing photos/videos, playing games, loading web pages online, and exporting 4K videos.
All phones are on default settings and in light mode instead of dark mode. Also, none of these phones have a SIM card, and inserting a card consumes extra power. That said, this comparison is as objective as possible, letting you see what kind of battery life you’ll get by buying a Galaxy S22 Ultra — or any other device — now.
Here are all the results, from the phone with the lowest battery life to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, with the top performer being the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
- Google Pixel 6 Pro: 7 hours 6 minutes
- Mi 12 Pro: 7 hours 34 minutes
- Galaxy S22 Ultra: 8 hours 8 minutes
- Galaxy S21 Ultra: 8 hours 15 minutes
- iPhone 13 Pro Max: 10 hours 27 minutes
The battery life performance of the Galaxy S22 Ultra may be improved through software optimizations in the future. And we don’t know if the Snapdragon 8 model can do better. But it certainly looks like the new Galaxy S22 Ultra can’t touch the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
