OPPO and Realme aim to accelerate the arrival of new updates to Android 12 for some smartphone models that await the next major update of the operating system and the arrival, respectively, of Color OS 12 and Realme UI 3.0. Starting this week, some smartphone models from OPPO and Realme can participate in a beta test program that will aim to accelerate the release of the future update to Android 12. Let’s see the details of the program and which smartphones are involved.
OPPO and Realme launch a new beta for Android 12: here are the smartphones involved
Let’s start from Realme. The brand has launched the Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta program with the aim of offering users the opportunity to test the upcoming software innovations, including all the new Android 12 features, on their smartphones. The program in question is available for Realme GT Neo 2, Realme X7 Max and also for the Realme GT Master Edition.
Owners of one of these smartphones have the opportunity to try the new update before its release in the stable version. According to information disclosed by Realme at the beginning of the year, for these models, a stable update is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2022. It should be noted that Realme has started a test program (accessible upon registration) also for the Realme C25, a smartphone low-end brand.
Access to the Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta program, in addition to a compatible smartphone, also requires the installation of the latest software version. To participate in the program, simply go to Settings> Software update and follow the procedure to download the “trial version” of Realme UI 3.0. After a quick check, the system will start downloading the update which requires approximately 5GB of storage.
OPPO smartphone owners also have the opportunity to preview Android 12 and Color OS 12 . In these hours, in fact, the brand has launched a beta program (accessible by registration in this case) for the owners of the OPPO Reno4 SE 5G (smartphone that debuted on the market with Android 10 and updated last year to Android 11).
In this case, after the acceptance of the request, the beta will be released via OTA within the following days. In order to access the program, even in this case smartphone owners must have an updated software version. It should be noted that, at least for the moment, OPPO has not clarified the timing for the completion of the beta phase and the release of the stable update.
The Open / Closed Beta of the updates to Android 12 should become even more frequent over the next few months for OPPO and Realme smartphones. The two brands are accelerating the procedures to complete, as soon as possible, the update program for compatible smartphones to the new version of the Android operating system and related UI.
