Ming-Chi Kuo: Mac Pro/iMac Pro on sale next year, only Mac Mini and 27-inch monitor this year

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple’s 2022 desktop Mac lineup may only include a new Mac Mini and a new monitor. The rumored Mac Pro and iMac Pro will be delayed until 2023. In the special spring event on the theme of “High Energy Transmission” on Tuesday, Mr. Guo believed that Apple is unlikely to launch a high-performance Mac device.

In a memo released on Sunday, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared his ” predictions for Apple ‘s new desktop products.” In the forecast, the hardware for 2022 includes “a more powerful Mac mini and a more affordable display.” The new Mac mini is expected to have an all-new design, including a polycarbonate top surface, a thinner case, and mandatory interior upgrades. Candidates include the use of the M1 Pro or M1 Max chip family and the introduction of the M2.

Apple is rumored to be working on multiple displays, including a 7K resolution version and an inexpensive replacement for the existing Pro Display XDR. Gou seems to indicate that the latter will be a display launched in 2022, mentioning that it will be a 27-inch display without Mini LED.

Although many people expected the new Mac Mini to be unveiled at this spring special event, Mr. Guo’s memo did not explicitly mention the launch but said it would be launched in 2022. As for other desktop Macs, Gou thinks there’s still some waiting before they show up. Mr. Guo believes that the Mac Pro and iMac Pro will appear in 2023, not 2022.
