Google originally planned to launch the Pixel 6a in May this year, but the latest news said that due to the impact of the supply chain and chip shortages, this new machine will be delayed until around July. Jon Prosser said that while the Pixel Watch is currently still on schedule to launch on May 26, it is also possible that its launch time will be delayed further.
According to previously exposed operator inventory management information, the Pixel 6a will come in three colors, black, white and green, and only a 128GB model. The Pixel 6a is expected to use the same Tensor GS101 chip found in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Given that chip shortages are still widespread, sharing the SoC between the three models at the same time could be a problem.
As for the Pixel Watch, it was initially expected to launch in May, but sources suggest the Pixel Watch will also be delayed, possibly until July. According to previous leaks, it is said to be codenamed “Rohan” and will be available in three colors: gray, black and gold.
Talking about the specs, the phone is said to feature a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. It is said that it has two options. 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone will likely run the Android 12 operating system out of the box.
