Windows 10 Build 19044.1586 (KB5011487) official version released

Microsoft Windows 10 KB5011487 is a new cumulative update rolled out to devices running version 21H2 or earlier. This update also applies to older versions, provided they use the Enterprise or Education edition.

KB5011487 is part of the March 2022 Patch Tuesday cycle, which also includes non-security improvements. According to official Microsoft documents, the “Patch Tuesday” update includes fixes from all previous updates. Contains optional updates and pending security updates.

This month’s “Patch Tuesday” update doesn’t have any new features. However, brought many bug fixes and improvements. For example, users can now easily share cookies between Microsoft Edge’s Internet Explorer mode and Edge.

Users can install the patch on any supported Windows 10 version released after April 2020. It should be noted that the build version of different versions of Windows 10 is different, so if it is on 21H2 or 20H2, the upgraded Build version will be different. For example, users running the November 2021 Update will get Build 19044.1586. For those still on Windows 10 20H2, they will get Build 19042.1586 with the same quality fixes.

Support for Windows 10 version 2004 ended last year, so Microsoft won’t offer the March 2022 Update for version 2004 unless the OS version is Enterprise or Education. If users are using Windows 11, they will get the KB5011493 patch update.
