Elden Ring: PC Vulnerability Not Fixed? The report was denied

Update: Metalcrow, who made a fix for the Dark Souls vulnerability, said the Twitter user report, which you can see below in the original news, is actually a fake. As mentioned in the original news, for now, it is unofficial information, so we can not confirm either the original report or the denial. This second source, however, is more credible than the first, so for the moment, we can trust Elden Ring.

Below is a screenshot of Metalcrow’s comment on the Elden Ring vulnerability report.

Original News: FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have not solved the Elden Ring security issue, according to a new report. The vulnerability of the PC version is still present and could allow attackers to apply malware to your computer while you play online.

The information comes from not as nervous, a Twitter user. As you can see below, the player shows that it is possible to activate malware on another player’s computer simply by playing online against it. In the video, as soon as the player is hit, malware loads that appear to open browser tabs endlessly.

As indicated, the only action of FromSoftware and Bandai Namco was to add Easy Anti-Cheat, which however does not seem to protect players from this vulnerability. It will be necessary to understand if the problem actually persists since for now, it is only an unofficial and unconfirmed report. It will also be necessary to see how the developers of Elden Ring will respond to the question.

Elden Ring has sold a lot on PC, so there would certainly be plenty of players at risk. If you are sure you want to play offline, you can now take advantage of mods, such as those for Easy mode and Hard mode, here’s what they do.
