Google’s ‘Delete Last 15 Minutes of Search History’ feature finally comes to Android

In the Google app for Android, Google has finally introduced the “Delete Last 15 Minutes of Search History” feature. Former XDA Developers editor-in-chief Mishaal Rahman said he was told the feature was rolling out, and an editor at The Verge spotted it on the phone.

Users can open Google’s Android app, tap your profile picture, and see a “Delete last 15 min” option. The feature was first announced at Google I/O last May, and it was introduced to Google’s iOS app last July. At the time, Google said the feature would be coming to Android later in 2021, but for some reason, the company seemed to miss that deadline.

It’s unclear if Google plans to bring the feature to the table — in its May announcement post, the company didn’t say on which platforms it would be available, while in July, Google only said the feature would appear on in iOS and Android apps. Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Google also offers a tool to automatically delete things from your search history that are 3, 18, or 36 months old.
