According to AppleInsider, Apple released its latest inclusion and diversity report, showing that the company has increased employment in underrepresented communities. The new data covers the time period from 2014 to 2021. During this period, Apple has increased its female workforce globally by 87 percent. All told, Apple has seen an 89 percent increase in female employees over the seven-year period.
In 2014, 70% of Apple’s global workforce were men, while 30% were women. New figures for 2021 show that 65.2% of Apple’s global workforce is male, while 34.8% are female. In addition, black and Hispanic candidates combined account for 25 percent of Apple’s leadership positions in the United States. Specific to retail leadership positions, this figure will reach 41% in 2021.

In a tweet on Thursday, Apple CEO Tim Cook addressed the new diversity and inclusion numbers, saying the company is “proud of the progress” it has made. Apple last updated its diversity and inclusion numbers in March 2021, showcasing similar results for its increasingly diverse workforce.
