Google Discover with a new connection to Google’s weather app

Google Discover could now have a permanently integrated weather display again. A new test is running for this. Discover is Google’s feed designed to show you the latest news, interesting web content, YouTube content, sports scores and actually the weather.

If you open Discover from the start screen, where you open page zero on the left of your app pages, you won’t find any information about the current weather there. This display is only available directly in the Google app.

Google seems to be checking again whether the permanently integrated weather display would not be a clever idea after all. Again, this time in the form of a wide banner that we see at the top of the rest of the Discover feed. The banner was already visible to colleagues. On the left, you can see the current look that I see on my Pixel smartphones, for example – completely without the weather.

This new weather banner may be coming to Google Discover because Google no longer offers a snapshot in Google Assistant. But that’s just a guess. The new weather banner is currently appearing primarily in the latest beta version of the Google app, which is also known to be responsible for the Discover function.
