Musk disclosed on Monday that he had amassed a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter, making him Twitter’s largest shareholder. He then asked other users on Twitter if they would like an edit button.
Twitter confirmed Tuesday via its official account @TwitterComms that its team has been working on a feature to edit tweets since last year. Twitter also shared a preview of the new button, which can be found by clicking the three dots next to the tweet.
The details of how the feature will work are unclear, but simply put, users will eventually be able to edit the content after tweeting. Many Twitter users have wanted an edit button for years.
