In addition to offering a slew of updates for Car Thing, Spotify recently announced that it is testing a new concept that will allow users to discover songs the way Tiktok does. Spotify calls this interaction “Canvas loops,” and users can discover music previews from different artists by simply swiping up and down.
In addition to discovering songs, you can enjoy previews with entertaining GIF-style loops to complement beats and rhythms. If you’ve ever visited Spotify’s Canvas page, you’ll see the platform’s different Canvas loops, from 2D and 3D to mixed media and looping video clips.
According to Spotify, users can get 15 music recommendations per day and discover works by other artists. “Whether you’re looking for a glimpse into a creator’s mind or the story behind a song, with this new quiz, we want to help you get closer to your favorite artists than ever before,” Spotify said in its post.
The song preview will be accompanied by a loop, and all you have to do is scroll through the vertical feed. If you find a new song that you like, you can add the song to your playlist or even follow the artist. Spotify promises that you can also share directly from the feed to other social channels. Once shared, Canvas is said to loop through your story background.
