Sony PlayStation: New legal case for gender discrimination, Emma Majo tries again

A former PlayStation employee is suing Sony for the second time, for “gender discrimination and harassment”. The accuser is Emma Majo, who worked for about five years at PlayStation as a financial analyst.

The new class-action she conducted was filed on May 20. According to reports, Majo had to contend with “a systemic sexist environment” at the company that included lower wages for female employees than for male employees in the same role. Furthermore, it is claimed that women were regularly denied promotions.

Majo also claims she was fired for talking about these issues. “Sony tolerates and cultivates a work environment that discriminates against female employees, including those who identify as such,” the lawsuit reads, adding: “Due to Sony’s systemic gender discrimination model and practice, plaintiff and proposed class members suffered harm, including non-compensation, back wages, job benefits and emotional distress. ”

Majo had already tried to bring Sony to court, but the case had been blocked due to lack of evidence. Previously, her goal was to get compensation for all female PlayStation addicts in the United States. Now, instead, his goal is to include only women who worked in California in a lesser role than vice-president.

In addition to Majo, eight other women have also accused Sony and their testimonies have been included in the previous lawsuit and, of course, also in this one. Sony has not yet commented on the new allegations.
