Chromebooks get the nicest feature since Android 12

Yes, Google wants to implement a feature from Android 12 for its own ChromeOS. The desktop operating system should have its own version of Material You, even with dynamic colors. Google’s plans are already evident in the very early developer versions of ChromeOS.

The information available so far indicates that Material You including the dynamic colors is planned for Chrome OS. Google has offered this design language since Android 12 (2021) and thus enables much better individualization of the software optics. Android 13 brings further improvements.

Material You brings new shapes and colors into play:

Difficult to say when the feature will be usable on Chromebooks. Maybe sometime later this year or even later. With a bit of luck, we’ll at least see Material You in action with dynamic colors in the coming months.
