Samsung’s 55-inch Odyssey Ark curved display is expected to go on sale in August, with a curvature of up to 1000R

At the 2022 CES conference in January this year, Samsung showed a 55-inch curved display called Odyssey Ark, and there was no news about this product after that, but according to ETNews, this monitor is expected to go on sale in August.

The Odyssey Ark has reportedly gone through a number of certification programs that must be completed before it goes on sale, and appeared at the Korea Radio Research Institute and Energy Agency a few weeks ago.

Samsung Odyssey Ark has a 1000R curve radius and a 16:9 aspect ratio that can be used in both landscape and portrait modes and supports technologies such as FreeSync and G-Sync. The screen has a 4K UHD resolution and an active refresh rate of 165Hz. The exact refresh rate could still change, as Samsung said at CES. Additionally, the display should achieve a grayscale response time of 1ms.

Pricing details for the Samsung Odyssey Ark are still unknown, and the monitor appears to be aimed primarily at the gaming market. For content creators, Samsung recently released the 27-inch and 32-inch ViewFinity S8, more suitable for graphic designers, content creators and professionals.
