New Gmail starts with Gmail-only for everyone

Google started rolling out the new Gmail theme a few months ago. It’s now available to more users with a powerful new option. Gmail shines in a new light with a new design inspired by the Material You introduced with Android 12.

But that didn’t just bring supporters, because the new Gmail also had the tight integration of Meet, Chat, and Spaces on board. Stupid for those who don’t use Google Meet at all and still have this double sidebar. A new option allows Gmail-only.

Gmail-only hides other Google services

Then Gmail can look like the following screenshot without the double sidebar on the left screen as in the cover photo. Thus there is direct access to the Gmail features. I just haven’t figured out where to find the Gmail-only settings that Google advertises on its blog.

The new Gmail is rolling out now and will reach users in the next few weeks. The classic view is still available as an option, but certainly not forever.
