Monday 4th July but there is no update for Google Pixel? Actually, that would have been the day for the new monthly update, but Google has a good reason for the delay. When I open my feed reader early, there are usually more than 100 new articles in it.
I mainly follow American websites, so a lot happens when we sleep here in Germany. But not this time, because July 4th is a very important holiday in the United States. So by Tuesday morning I only had 5 new articles in the feed reader. And it’s missing something some have been waiting for.
National Day paralyzes the USA, even updates come later than expected
Actually, yesterday would have been the day when Google pushed a fresh system update for Google Pixel and also published a new Android Security Bulletin. The first Monday of a new month. But because it was July 4th, Google obviously postponed the updates. We just don’t know if it takes just one day or maybe even a whole week.
If Google doesn’t take that much time, the updates will arrive as early as the evening of July 5th. If Google gives itself a little more time, then the updates can only be expected on July 11th. But that’s not something the group talks about in advance or reveals details. So all we can do is wait and see for the update release. We actually only expect a few bug fixes for the Pixel phones.
July 4th again day of a tragedy
Unfortunately, when you talk about July 4, 2022, you can’t avoid another tragedy. The country of guns has again claimed victims, near Chicago there was another deadly shootout. It’s pretty crazy to have to read something like that from the USA all the time because it’s almost part of everyday life there.
