A few days ago, Google announced an update for its interchangeable app and gave a number of reasons for switching to the Android operating system. The said app update ensures that the change app for iOS enables a seamless change including data transfer to Android.
Previously, however, this app was exclusively intended for Google’s Pixel series. That has changed with the mentioned update. The app is now basically compatible with Android smartphones running at least Android 12.
Switching to Android is now easier
Google also gave a number of reasons why iPhone owners should switch to a device with Android. However, not all advantages are only available on Android, as a user you have to know that. For example, there would be advertising for Google Messages in order to be able to easily write to other Android contacts via RCS. Apple has that for iPhone users too, just via iMessage.
- Express yourself in new ways: The Messages app and Gboard make it easy and fun to send messages — especially between friends who use Android. Thanks to RCS, group chats, high quality photo and video sharing, read receipts and emoji reactions are available, and thousands of emoji mashup stickers help you express your feelings. (Rest assured that your iPhone friends will continue to receive your messages.)
- Video chat with anyone, anywhere: If your friends and family have Google accounts, it’s easier than ever to video chat with Google Meet on Android. If you prefer FaceTime, you can use that in the latest version of Chrome too. Or with apps like WhatsApp in Google Play, you can chat with whoever you want for free around the world. Android offers so many options that it’s easy to stay connected to the ones that matter most to you.
- Tune in to your favorite music: Catch up on the latest hits with your favorite streaming service available on Android. You can still access your Apple Music purchases and downloaded content on your new Android device by downloading the Apple Music app.
- Your favorite apps and more: With Google Play, you can find the apps you already use and love, and quickly discover so many more. Want to plan an outdoor getaway? Hipcamp can help you book your next campsite, Skyview Lite is your starry sky guide, and AllTrails can help you find a hike that’s perfect for you and your friends. A summer of fun with your new Android.
- A privacy-first approach: On your new phone, Android proactively protects your data. Android helps block malicious apps, malware, phishing, and spam, helping you stay ahead of threats. For example, Messages helps protect people from 1.5 billion spam messages per month. Android also provides timely recommendations, e.g. B. Prompting you to choose your location sharing preferences when you open an app, so you can make the best privacy choices. Read more about how to keep your data private and secure .
- More devices that work better together: Choose from a variety of Chromebooks, Wear OS smartwatches, Google TV devices, and Fast Pair-enabled headphones like Pixel Buds that work better with your phone. In fact, some of your Apple products will still work with your Android device, such as: B. AirPods.
- Get more done with Google apps and services: Heading on vacation and can’t read local signs? Scan text for instant translation to get you where you need to be quickly. Editing a Google Doc on your laptop but need to finish it on the go? You can also easily continue working on your Android phone. Google prides itself on being helpful, and the best of Google is built into Android phones.
- Share music, photos and more across devices: Nearby Share makes it easy to share music, photos and other files between your nearby Android and Chrome OS devices. To share content like photos and videos with non-Android devices, you can easily use the built-in sharing in Google Photos or several other apps that allow you to share them with friends and family and keep them in one for the future organized memory bank.
- Customize your home screen with Android widgets: Widgets are helpful additions to any home screen, putting the information that matters most to you right at your fingertips. 35 Google widgets will soon be available for Android.
