Google Meet’s advanced video calling features will be available to individual users

Search giant Google announced today that three features of Google Meet previously only available through its enterprise-focused Workspace program will be available to Google One users. These features include group calling for up to 24 hours (the previous limit was 1 hour), access to Google Meet’s background noise filtering, and support for recording video calls.

These features aren’t available on every Google One plan. They’re only available to those who pay for 2TB or more of storage, which means paying at least $10 a month or $100 a year for a subscription.

Nor will these features roll out to every 2TB Google One user right away. For now, they will only be available in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, and Australia, with more countries to follow soon, Google’s announcement says. This is a beneficial little upgrade for Google One, giving individuals access to some of Google Workspace’s more advanced features.

Google’s announcement suggests that this may not be the last, with future Google One plans to add “additional premium features” for Meet, Gmail and Calendar.
