Resident Evil 2, sales of 10 million copies for the remake

Resident Evil 2 has totaled sales of over 10 million copies, announced Capcom: the remake was launched in early 2019 and the sum includes both physical and digital units.

Providing further impetus to the success of the excellent makeover was the Resident Evil 2 update for PS5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC, which introduced major technical improvements such as support for ray tracing, prompting more people to still try this experience.

In the Resident Evil 2 review, we explained the reasons for this excellent reception from the public: the remake is visually spectacular and brings the original mechanics to a modern level, also going to retouch some elements of the story.

In a note, Capcom spoke of the success of Resident Evil 2 as the result of a solid strategy, which supported the game with some DLCs and with several promotions, especially for the digital version, which enticed users.

The events of the game see Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield trapped in the city of Raccoon City in the midst of a zombie invasion that will confront them with decidedly dramatic and insidious situations.
