We may only have a few days left to reveal the details of Samsung’s August Unpacked event, and the pace of leaked images and details has been more steady ahead of the event. Earlier this month, we already got an accurate look at the Galaxy Watch 5 (standard and Pro versions) and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro true wireless earbuds.
Now we get to the real stars, the two foldable phones expected to debut next month. Thanks to unofficial, CAD-derived renders, we already know that the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 aren’t expected to change significantly from their predecessors in design. And now, with the first official images of the Flip 4 in the Bora Violet color of one of these phones, we can get a closer look at its details.
At first glance, this newer model is comparable to the lilac Z Flip3, but a closer look reveals some subtle changes (see comparison above). In addition to the bolder color scheme (and deeper antenna slot), the buttons also look slightly larger and probably feel better when closed.
Also more obvious is the prominent camera lens, which is said to provide a better imaging experience than previous models. The body itself also doesn’t look as sharp as its previous ends, perhaps to accommodate a larger battery.
And finally, the key parts of the device: the hinge seems a bit narrower and closer to the screen, though that’s likely an illusion.
