Samsung and Google are now very close, and not just with Wear OS. The partners are currently working together on a new feature for Android 13. Samsung is known to be very familiar with devices that have their own stylus. Samsung has theoretically even revolutionized the digital pen in the smartphone sector with its Note series. Now Google is being helped to integrate better support directly into Android. It could start as soon as Android 13.
Stylus support in Android gets even better thanks to Samsung
A new interface enables broader support for stylus input on Android. The new source code could appear with Android 13. The WebView applications in Android and the Chrome browser, for example, benefit from this. Google itself might be interested in better stylus support because they are also planning a foldable.
Samsung is working with Google to add stylus handwriting-to-text support in Chrome for Android and Android WebViews. On Samsung devices with an S Pen, this uses their DirectWriting API. On Android 13+, this will use Android’s new stylus writing APIs.https://t.co/zpfvg2Psts
