Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 & 5 Pro
Samsung is launching various new devices today, including two smartwatches Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro. According to Samsung, the two wearables support fitness and wellness routines with customizable programs and powerful sensor technology.
The new models are supposed to bring more power than the previous models, but they are designed a little differently. Samsung markets the Galaxy Watch5 as an everyday all-rounder, while the Galaxy Watch5 Pro is advertised as Samsung’s most robust smartwatch with GPS functions to date.
The Galaxy Watch5 is equipped with Samsung’s BioActive sensor, which enables the monitoring of body function values. The BioActive Sensor, first used in the Galaxy Watch 4, combines three sensors on a single chip: optical heart rate, electrical heart signal and bioelectrical impedance analysis.
The BioActive Sensor can thus provide readings on heart rate, blood oxygen content and stress level. In addition, blood pressure can be measured and an EKG can be created. With an enlarged surface and more direct contact with the wrist compared to the previous model, the Galaxy Watch5 now records body function values more precisely than the Galaxy Watch4, according to the South Koreans.
At rest, the Galaxy Watch5 models provide recovery data, including heart rate data after high-endurance workouts and personalized hydration recommendations based on body fluid loss. In order to better understand your own sleep behavior, sleep scores offer insight into the different sleep phases, snoring behavior and the oxygen content in the blood.
The watches also offer personalized sleep coaching with a sleep guide. Through integration with the SmartThings platform, the Galaxy Watch5 controls lighting, air conditioning and TVs according to pre-programmed settings. According to Samsung, improved fall detection ensures that an emergency contact is notified if the user falls at home or, for example, falls out of bed.
The Galaxy Watch5 has a 13 percent larger battery than the previous model and offers eight hours of sleep monitoring after just eight minutes of charging. For the first time, the smartwatch display consists of sapphire glass with 60% increased hardness. With Google Assistant, favorite songs can be played on demand. Users will soon be able to find their way around with the help of Google Maps even without a smartphone connection. SoundCloud and Deezer are also available. With the help of One UI Watch4.5, the device can also be operated more conveniently.
From hiking to cycling and beyond, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro is again well-equipped thanks to its materials. The sapphire crystal, which is also stronger than the previous model, is more resistant to wear and tear and the titanium case protects the display with the protruding bezel. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro also comes with a D-buckle sport strap. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro also adds to the battery again. In addition, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro is equipped for the first time with GPS features aimed at outdoor enthusiasts. With Route Workout z. B. hiking routes are recorded.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro also has a 1.4-inch diagonal screen with a resolution of 450 x 450 pixels. For the mentioned battery it is 590 mAh. The specs are joined by 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage space. The Galaxy Watch 5 offers you a 1.4 inch as a 44 and 1.2 inch as a 40 mm version – with 450 x 450 and 396 x 396 pixels. There are 410 or 284 mAh for the battery.
