For update Firmware Airpods Users can visit Apple Store without Apple device

Over-the-air firmware updates for Apple’s AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max headphones are installed using an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. However, individuals without an Apple device are unable to obtain new firmware on their own.

Apple addressed this issue today in an updated AirPods firmware support document, recommending that individuals without an Apple device update their firmware at an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. From the document providing support:

If you don’t have an Apple device nearby, you can set up an appointment at an Apple Store or with an Apple Authorized Service Provider to update your firmware.

It’s not convenient to go to a store just to get the firmware, but it makes sense that the majority of AirPods owners also own other Apple products. Because Apple doesn’t make an AirPods management app for Android or Windows, PC users won’t be able to install firmware updates from their devices. For Android devices, Apple does offer a Beats app that permits firmware updates.

Additionally, Apple clarified in the document that firmware updates are installed automatically when the AirPods are charging and within range of a WiFi-connected iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
