Absence of WiFi password sharing feature in Android 14 on Pixel devices causes inconvenience

Recently, upon setting up my Pixel tablet, I encountered an unexpected inconvenience that has left me frustrated. Previously, I would rely on copying my WiFi password from my existing devices when configuring new devices. However, with the introduction of Android 14, this convenient option seems to have vanished.

The omission lies within Pixel devices running Android 14, as they no longer offer the ability to display or share the password for connected WiFi networks. The corresponding button, which facilitated this function, has inexplicably disappeared. Consequently, I found myself unable to access the WiFi password on my Pixel smartphones (7a and 7 Pro) as I had previously done.

This issue, which arose during the beta testing phase, is a notable deviation from the practical feature that remains accessible in Android 13. While it is reasonable to assume that this is a mere bug, it is noteworthy that it had been identified and reported by developers as early as May. Consequently, it is anticipated that a resolution would have been implemented by now.

Under Android 14, two buttons are conspicuously missing. Alongside the absence of the “Remove” button, the “Share” button has also disappeared. It is important to note that this is not the only flaw requiring attention, as minor inconsistencies have been observed across other buttons and selection fields, as previously reported.
