Google releases factory images for Pixel Tablet ‘Tangorpro’

Google has officially unveiled the release of factory images for the Pixel Tablet, accompanied by the Android 13 operating system and the June 2023 security patch.

The Pixel Tablet is preloaded with the TD2A.230203.028 version and an immediate day-one update upgrades it to TQ3A.230605.009.A1, integrating the June 2023 security patch. This update, known as Android 13 QPR3, encompasses the latest enhancements from the recent Pixel Feature Drop.

Unlike smartphones, which often have multiple builds each month due to carrier considerations, the Pixel Tablet follows a streamlined monthly build approach.

The factory images serve as a valuable tool for owners to restore their Pixel Tablet to its original factory firmware in the event of software damage. However, Google advises that using the full OTA (Over-the-Air) image via sideloading is typically a more straightforward and secure method.

In addition, Google’s official factory images page confirms that the official codename for the Pixel Tablet is “tangorpro.” The “pro” suffix denotes the utilization of the Tensor G2 chip instead of the first-generation Google chip.

Google commits to providing guaranteed Android version updates for the Pixel Tablet until June 2026, followed by an additional two years of security patches. Notably, the Charging Speaker Dock for the tablet undergoes automatic updates whenever the device is connected to the internet, similar to other Nest speakers and Smart Displays.
