The latest update arrived with the build number G990EXXU6EWF2 (Thailand), G990USQU7EWE3 (Carrier-Locked) and G990U1UES7EWE3 (Unlocked).
June 13/2023: The Galaxy S21 FE model, part of the esteemed flagship lineup, is now receiving the June 2023 security update. This recent update, identified as firmware version G990U1UES7EWE3, is being deployed to unlocked units of the Galaxy S21 FE in the United States.
The primary focus of this update is to integrate the comprehensive security fixes from the June 2023 security patch for Android and Samsung devices. However, unlike the update for other Galaxy S21 models, this specific update for the S21 FE does not introduce any additional changes or enhancements.
The June 2023 security patch successfully addresses a total of 53 security vulnerabilities present in the Android operating system. Among these vulnerabilities, three are classified as critical, while the remaining pose high levels of significance. Additionally, the patch includes fixes for 11 security vulnerabilities specifically affecting Samsung devices. Notably, three of these vulnerabilities impact devices operating on Android 11, Android 12, and Android 13, while one vulnerability targets devices powered by Samsung’s proprietary Exynos chips.
If you are an owner of the Galaxy S21 FE, your device will prompt you once the update is available for download. However, it may take a few days for the notification to reach your device. To expedite the process, you can proactively check for the update by accessing the phone’s Settings app, navigating to the Software update submenu, and selecting the Download and Install option.
