Google Home 3.3 update introduces Home panel feature on Pixel devices

Google has officially announced the availability of Home Panel for Pixel smartphones as part of the June Feature Drop. This exciting feature is now being widely released through an update to the Google Home app.

Version 3.3 of the Google Home app is currently rolling out via the Play Store, introducing the highly anticipated Home Panel. The Home Panel feature enhances the existing Favorites tab, ensuring a seamless and consistent user experience.

Previously, Android users had to manually select and arrange their preferred smart home tiles within Device controls. This functionality was introduced with Android 11 as part of the power menu.

The Home Panel feature presents users with a row of Spaces dedicated to Cameras, Lighting, Climate, and Wifi. Below this, a grid displays various devices, including camera feeds, automations, and other actions.

Accessing the Home Panel is convenient, as it can be done by tapping the Home icon located in the bottom-left corner of the lock screen or by using the Home tile in Quick Settings. In instances where sensitive devices and controls are involved, users will be prompted to unlock their devices for added security.

While Home Panel initially made its debut on the Pixel Tablet, this feature is now being extended to Pixel Fold and other Google smartphones running Android 13 QPR3. The recent app update began rolling out during the previous week, and users of the Pixel 7 and 6 Pro can already enjoy the benefits of Google Home 3.3.
