Code shows that Google Pixel 6/Pro will use Samsung GN1 50MP sensor

The latest leaked parameters show that Google Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 will use a 50-megapixel Samsung GN1 sensor as their main camera. A string of codes in the camera app in the new version of Google Android confirms this rumor, and the app has arrived with Android 12 Beta 4.

The p21 mentioned in the code refers to the upcoming Pixel 6 series, which is connected to gn1_wide. The secret is easy to decipher. The GN1 sensor released by Samsung in May last year has a pixel size of 1.2μm. Combining them at a ratio of 4:1 can turn 50 million 1.2μm pixels into 12.5 million 2.4μm pixels.

This sensor has been used in the Vivo X60 Pro+, but it should not be confused with the GN2 sensor in the Xiaomi 11 Ultra, which has slightly larger 1.4μm pre-layered pixels and 2.8μm layered pixels. According to reports, Samsung will also manufacture custom Tensor chips for the Pixel 6 series and provide it with a communication modulation scheme-Exynos 5123B.

Google will launch Pixel 6 sometime in the fall.
