Does iPhone 14 looks like this? The model shows off a new punch screen

All the current revelations indicate that the high-end iPhone 14 series models that Apple will launch this year will be changed to a pill/capsule-shaped perforated screen design, thus saying goodbye to the bangs iPhone appearance since 2017. While the next iPhone is still months away, we can actually imagine what this model might look like right now.

The punch-hole screen of the iPhone 14

Developer Jeff Grossman showed off a mockup of the iPhone 14 on Twitter, showing us a possible hands-on experience with the iPhone 14. Compared with the previous bangs screen, this punch-hole screen is located approximately in the center slightly below the bangs border, and has a shorter length and height, providing more screen space on both sides.

According to foreign media, although Apple has reduced the size of the bangs on the iPhone 13, the extra space cannot be effectively used at all, and even users still cannot display the battery percentage in the status bar but must swipe down to the control center. Therefore, some netizens believe that if Apple adopts a punch-hole screen of this shape, users can see more information on the status bar, thereby improving the experience.

In addition, there are also some media that have released an illustration of the iPhone 14 Pro display, indicating that Apple will place some important sensors (the pill part) in the punched position, while the infrared and other secondary sensors (pictured below) hole) will be hidden under the display. Among them, the right half of the elliptical hole is equipped with components for Face ID, and the front lens of the new machine will also have a wider wide-angle shooting capability.

iPhone 13 battery utilization

Apple’s bangs design has been a hallmark of the iPhone design language since the iPhone X. The new punch-hole screen requires Apple to install multiple sensors and TrueDepth systems in a smaller area, and the integration is quite high.

So there are rumors that only the high-end iPhone 14 Pro models will use punch-hole screens this year, while the low-end models will continue to use full-size bangs, but the credibility is average.

In addition to this, some people believe that starting next year, the iPhone 15 will no longer need any notch or punch hole, because Apple wants to put Face ID and related sensors under the screen.
