Although the iPhone 13 Pro model introduced support for the 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate, the adaptation of third-party applications has not yet made substantial progress, and most applications are still limited to 60Hz, which cannot take advantage of the 120Hz refresh rate of the new device. In this regard, Apple’s explanation is that there is a core animation bug, which will be fixed in subsequent updates.
With today’s release of iOS 15.4 Beta 1, Apple appears to have fixed the issues with core animations. Automatically provide a 120Hz refresh rate for all animations on ProMotion-enabled iPhone devices for a smoother experience. Apollo developer Christian Selig said on Twitter today that he was informed by Apple that a fix has been implemented in iOS 15.4, a change he can confirm himself.
Yay, got a little message from someone at Apple today that this is fixed in the iOS 15.4 betas and all apps automatically get 120 Hz animations on supported iPhones going forward, and just confirmed myself. (See attached, 1/120 = 8.33 ms) 🥳🥳🥳 https://t.co/EtZ9zkrM6S pic.twitter.com/04cl8uLb11

With full support for 120Hz ProMotion, there should be no noticeable difference between the various animations in the app and everything should operate as expected. The 120Hz refresh rate is designed to provide a smoother viewing experience for scrolling through content, games, and more.
