You can check which Android version an app requires on the web and also directly in the Play Store app. However, the information can sometimes be very vague on the web, while the Play Store app has better knowledge of the APK files stored.

On the web, the information says “Required Android version” and on mobile simply “Android operating system”. I tried an app once. In fact, the exact Android version required was given directly on the phone, while the web only says “Varies by device”.
