More Apple employees are switching to an Android smartphone for fear of surveillance

Google and Apple together dominate the smartphone market, but only cooperate with each other in the necessary areas. Apple in particular will probably encourage its employees to use its own products – which many companies would like to have. However, a report now says that more and more Apple employees are using Android smartphones. And for very different reasons than you might think.

Android or iOS, Apple or another major smartphone manufacturer. This is a question of faith for many users, but it also has other arguments for Apple employees. According to a report, more and more Apple employees are using Android smartphones to avoid being monitored by their employer. The main issues are the establishment of unions and the working conditions in the Apple Stores. There are said to be cases again and again in which employees are overheard – presumably also via their iPhone.

So it makes sense to grab an Android smartphone over which Apple has no control. It is difficult to say how much substance there is in this report and whether Apple actually monitors the iPhones of the employees to the extent that they can be overheard. Technically, Apple would undoubtedly be able to do this. In the medium term, however, it would certainly be a wiser choice for mistrustful employees to change employers instead of just their smartphones.

Incidentally, the employees not only change the smartphone, but also the messenger service associated with it. Encrypted messenger communication should often be used instead of iMessage so that the information transmitted does not end up on the executive floor. The change is certainly a fact, but whether the employees are actually bugged via iMessage should be questioned, at least on a large scale.
